How do I clean my product?
We encourage clients to take time to properly care for and maintain your Davidrose jewelry. This will allow you to enjoy the beauty of your piece for decades to come. As with all fine jewelry, it is recommended you take them off before swimming in chlorinated or salt water.  In addition to the below instructions for daily care, Davidrose offers professional jewelry cleaning for a small fee.

18K Gold
To prevent damage to your white, yellow or rose gold jewelry, we recommend you store it safely away from other pieces to avoid unnecessary scratches in its original packaging. Gold should be kept away from harsh chemicals, such as cleaning and beauty products, to avoid discoloration to the metal. All our 18k white gold has been plated with a white rhodium finish. This is a layer of plating applied to the metal to emphasize the bright white finish of the metal and can be especially susceptible to discoloration when brought into contact with chemicals.

Platinum
Platinum has the advantage of being harder and more durable than most wearable metals, however, it needs caring for in a similar way to your gold pieces. It is still prone to scratching so should be suitably stored to prevent it from rubbing against other pieces you may have. We recommend you keep this away from any strong chemicals to avoid damage or weakening of the metal.

Ocean Collection
Our Bermuda Blue Cats Eye is unique to Davidrose and has its very own care guidelines to ensure the longevity of your pieces.  We would advise that you keep these pieces away from strong light sources, chemicals, extreme changes in temperature and prolonged submersion in water. You can keep the stone clean by rubbing it with a lint-free cloth to remove any dirt or fingerprints that may have appeared on the surface.

Diamonds
Diamonds are well known for their strength and durability, however they can still be chipped or cracked when knocked. Care should therefore be taken to avoid harsh contact when worn.  Diamonds can be easily cleaned by using our Davidrose Cleaner along with a lint-free cloth to remove any dirt/ grease and to bring back its shine.

Sapphires, Rubies & Emeralds
Porous gemstones can be stained by oils or liquids, so it is important to avoid contact with face creams, lotions and household chemicals.  Wash porous gemstones with our Davidrose Cleaner and polish with a lint-free soft cloth.

Silver Jewelry
Our Silver jewelry is finished with Rhodium which is highly corrosion-resistant and thus prevents tarnishing.  However, over time the Rhodium finish can rub off depending on the skin and care habits of the wearer. Rhodium typically lasts years before wearing off and some silver pieces can even last decades.
We recommend cleaning your jewelry using our Davidrose Cleaner and a soft brush and then finishing by polishing with a soft cloth to prevent the natural process of tarnishing.
